A Specific Answer is difficult because there are so many activities in so many sub field on what A.I can do. We probably might not be able to list all. Here are some few applications…
⦁ Speech recognition: A traveler calling united airlines to book flight can have an entire conversation guided by an automated speech recognition and dialog management system.
⦁ Game Playing: IBM DEEP BLUE became the first computer program to defeat the world champion in a chess match when it bested Garry Kasparov by a score of 3.5 to 2.5 in an exhibition match. (Goodman and Keen 1997).
⦁ Spam Fighting: Everyday, Learning Algorithms classify over a billion messages as spam saving the recipient from having to waste time deleting what, for many users comprises of 80% to 90% of all messages, if not classified away by algorithms.
⦁ Robotic Vehicles: A driver-less robotic car named STANLEY sped through the rough terrain of the Mojave dessert at 22mph, finishing the 132-mile course first to win the 2005 DARPA Game Challenge. STANLEY is a Volkswagen Tuareg outfitted with cameras, radar and laser rangefinders to sense the environment and onboard software to command the steering, braking and acceleration (Thrun 2006). Uber is experimenting with self driving cars in Pittsburgh, self driving 18 wheeler are hitting the roads.
⦁ Chat-bots: Are another super hot A.I. They are already starting to offer assistance to sales person and increasingly showing up in customer support and news delivery channel.
⦁ Health Care: A.I and Deep Learning is being put to save lives by Infervision. Radiologist need to review hundreds of scans everyday which is not only tedious but human fatigue can lead to errors. Infervision trained and taught algorithms to augment the work of radiologist allow them to diagnose cancers more accurately and efficiently.
⦁ Media: Big Data Analytics is helping Netflix predict what it’s customers will enjoy watching. They are also increasingly content creators, not just distributors and use data to drive what content it will invest on creating.
